The Creighton-Nebraska Psychiatry Residency participates in the ERAS application program, which is supported by the Association of American Medical Colleges. Only ERAS applications will be accepted.

Complete Personal Statement
Curriculum Vitae listing in detail all U.S. or foreign psychiatry experience
Three letters of recommendation, U.S. references preferred if available
Letter of recommendation from the Dean of your current medical school
Letter of recommendation from your current program director, if transferring from another program
Official transcript from medical school
Valid ECFMG certificate, if applicable
USMLE Step 1 and Step 2 or COMLEX Level 1 or Level 2 scores, required
Step 3 score, if available
Current photograph
For U.S. graduates, the minimum eligibility requirements to enter the program include graduation from a medical school accredited by the American Association of Medical Colleges or the American Association of Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine.

A graduate of a foreign medical school must be certified by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates, demonstrate proficiency in the English language and score 80 or above on Step 1 and 2 of the USMLE. If you are a foreign citizen, you must be eligible for a J-1 Visa. (You cannot begin the program without acquiring a green card or J-1 Visa. Evidence of an aptitude for and interest in psychiatry is also required. Experience in Psychiatry (e.g., volunteer work, internships, prior residency, research, etc.), and at least one letter of recommendation from a psychiatrist who knows your work are required.

Interviews. Applications are reviewed in the ERAS system and a limited number of interviews are granted. For each interview date, the applicant will meet with approximately five faculty members throughout the day and have lunch with residents. Tours of the facilities will be provided as time permits. It is our mission to give each applicant a truly representative picture of life as a resident in our program and in the beautiful city of Omaha.
